Even though I have no symptoms today, I know that I am at high risk and can see the signs that one day I will probably get the disease. Glaucoma is in my family, my great grandma had it and I have optic disc cupping and high eye pressure.

I think that the hardest thing about glaucoma is that you don’t feel any pain, it just slowly, slowly, takes your side vision and by the time you realise it, it’s gone.

A lot of people aren’t even aware that glaucoma exists so they don't realise that they need to go and get their eye pressure checked regularly.

I can’t stress how important it is to look after your eyes and get tested. Most optometrists now can do a basic glaucoma test and it’s not an expensive exercise to save a precious thing...
