I was diagnosed with glaucoma at the age of 43 by an eye specialist, whom I see regularly once a year, but the last two years running I have had to see the doctor twice each year.
I was told my glaucoma was hereditary, as my mother had been diagnosed with it. Really you do not know you have it, and in my case I felt physically fit.
I enjoy getting the Glaucoma Newsletter in the mail, and I regularly give a donation, as it is helping myself and others with glaucoma.
My glaucoma is treated by administering eye drops in each eye, not much to ask of in order to stay on top of my glaucoma.
Hopefully I will not go blind, as I have regular check-ups with my eye specialist and optician.
