
Join us for a Facebook Live Q&A with Associate Professor Bang Bui on 'The impact of glaucoma on mental health and emotional well-being'.
Eye health and vision have widespread and profound implications for many aspects of life. In this Live event Bang will discuss some of the latest advances in our understanding of glaucomatous vision loss how it affects daily activities, and what implications it may have on the mental health of people with glaucoma. He will also discuss what researchers are starting to learn about coping strategies.
Bang is an optometrist who went on to completed his Masters and then his PhD in 2003, at the University of Melbourne. He spent 2 years at the Devers Eye Institute in Portland Oregon studying the causes of glaucoma. He is currently deputy head of Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne and his research group undertakes basic and clinical studies to understand why older eyes are at greater risk of glaucoma.
